Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Walkie or Rider is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models and "Rider" versions.
Like what the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit while they move cargo. The Rider model on the other hand, uses a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances in manufacturing operations and warehouses. They are highly fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to pick up and transport tall or unstable loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider can be the best answer if you are searching for a cheap way of transporting loads from one place to another. If though, you must transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the best alternative.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is specifically designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the load and the operator in an effort to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Typically, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle that can function in smaller aisles. They are really handy pieces of equipment in physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
