Narrow Aisle Forklifts
Several forklifts are especially made to fit down very narrow aisles in a warehouse. These units are known as narrow aisle forklifts. They could negotiate smaller aisles with ease and allow you to enjoy several advantages. Like for instance, the increased amount of area to store stuff can really increase a company's overall available stock.
Narrow aisle forklifts could maneuver easily also. These equipment have been particularly engineered to move without a lot of space. Their different design has eliminated many of the things which are squished up into the design of the conventional lift truck's main body.
The downside of narrow aisle lift trucks is that they are really slow compared to regular lift trucks. Narrow aisle forklifts will not work if you have to transport things across large distances. In terms of speed they would not be a reliable alternative. If you also have a regular lift truck, this would not be a problem. You could simply use the narrow aisle forklift to transport the load to a central location and then hand it off to a standard lift truck that can travel the bulk of the distance in an efficient and timely manner. Commonly, narrow aisle lift trucks cannot handle as much lifting weight; therefore, outside of smaller loads they will not be really effective.
Electric Lift Trucks
Conventional gas lift trucks are not a suitable choice for indoor operations like warehouses or stores. They will not be as safe due to their fumes, or as useful or cost-efficient than an electric powered unit. Electric lift trucks are normally engineered to look and work a lot like gas ones, but they use electric batteries which must be recharged, rather than gasoline fuel.
The electrically powered lift truck has become more popular and for a range of reasons. These equipment can help businesses save expenses on fuel. Electric models would first cost more, but would ultimately save you more over time. Like for example, when gas prices go up, you would not be affected and would save lots of cash. Electric models tend to last somewhat a bit longer than gas powered models too. This is partly because of the fact they are mostly used inside and hence don't get as dirty or work in as harsh settings as the gas powered ones. Electric models are healthier to use in areas that are poorly ventilated like indoor applications and warehouses because they don't emit noxious fumes. It can be extremely dangerous to use gas or diesel lift trucks inside.
The electric lift truck does have some downsides like the fact that they can really just work for roughly 8 hours. After that the equipment will need to be charged for 8 hours and rested for another 8 hours. A lot of companies get around this situation by buying a spare battery so they could continually cycle them and have less downtime. There are fast charge batteries emerging on the market that are also reducing the charging time.
