Audible Devices - Back-Up or Motion Alarms:
Back-up alarms and motion alarms are audio device accessories that generate enough sound so that the noise is heard overtop the sounds produced from the forklift itself.
The sound produced by the audio device must be discernible from other audible devices or sounds from the work setting. The sound should also be different from the other noise or audible devices within the work area. The audible device could employee noise exposure and end up contribute to OSHA noise limitation; thus, care must be taken.
Hearing protection makes it harder to hear the audible device and to distinguish which distance and direction it is coming from. Audible devices could sometimes get disabled from both employees and operators as they can find them really irritating. As well, audible devices may also be objectionable to residents in the vicinity.

Impact Monitor: The impact monitor deactivates the unit and when this occurs, it requires a supervisor to activate and override the model. This encourages the operator to be certain to manage the equipment in a more controlled way.
Panoramic and Dual Rear View Mirrors: These specific mirrors help to assist the operator in observing the operating space behind the vehicle, and their tail swing area.
