During 1966, Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries. During that time, he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift which operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" that was utilized to lower and raise the hoist. This device greatly impressed clients and hence, the name was born.
Genie has moved into many new markets, as the need for lifts and work platforms grew. Over time, as the demand for new machinery to meet many applications grew, the company made itself recognized in numerous new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into manufacturing light towers, man-lifts, articulated booms, stick booms and telehandlers.
Because of the economic recession in the beginning of the 2000s, Genie decided to acquire a partner who had the same values. They partnered up together with Terex Corporation. This company has a history acquiring equipment manufacturers throughout the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was only decided after the initial few years following the sale. Therefore, all Genie machinery continue to be sold under the Genie brand.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is dedicated to continually improving quality and efficiency and is also dedicated to minimizing waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on providing outstanding support. These are the very work disciplines which have made Genie a trusted brand over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machines.
The DC and Bi-Energy machines provided by Genie provide emission-free, quiet operation even in the most delicate work settings. Where the machinery needs to be driven significant distances, like for instance in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the benefits of a 48V DC equipment together with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Compared to any of the different types of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach overall. These machines are ideal for limited access places in construction and other industrial settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to provide utmost productivity. These equipment provide the drive speed and supreme traction you require to be able to travel around the work site and job area.
