How to Charge a Scissor Lift
There is a great ease when using a scissor lift, since the convenience of working and the lift basket's security gives peace of mind while trying to carry out tasks that could have otherwise required utilizing the step of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this machinery make it the right choice for completing jobs from heights.
The majority of scissor lifts are operated by batteries that are internally mounted inside the lift's base. These batteries need to be charged after a long shift or due to sitting after extended periods without use. It is an easy job to charge the batteries. This can be done without any particular tools or equipment and needs no heavy labor.
In order to prepare the scissor lift for charging, park the machine near an electrical outlet. Make sure you are doing this in a well-ventilated place. Next, in order to prevent another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the large red button located in the basket of the lift, near the charger or the control box. Find the battery charger on the base of the lift on the right side. Usually, older models would have the charger mounted on the back of the lift.
The AC extension cord must next be plugged into the charger. Be sure to charge in a well ventilated area and plug the cord into an electrical outlet. In order to prevent accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is intentionally short. This is because if any extra length were to drop out of the battery charger storage area when in use, extreme danger can likely happen.
